Harbor‘ is an 11-minute dance that evokes the ritualism of becoming, performed at Movement Research in NYC, June 2026. Elegant contemporary dance is set to mystical, folksy banjo for a timeless and intimate feel. Each of the six performers embodies a different archetype, drawing from the tarot’s major arcana: The Fool, The Oracle, The Empress, The Hermit, Judgment, and The Moon.

Harbor‘ represents the pursuit of safety, and the unavoidable liminal march toward the abyss of change. Melancholic, everyday, and morbid themes in the spoken text juxtapose movement motifs of childlike innocence such as rock, paper, scissors and hopscotch. Playful symbolic existentialisms of numbers and atomic bonds intersect Harbor‘s focused dance elements to prod at the tensions between free will, destiny, karma, meaning, and return.
