Lily Selthofner

Lily Selthofner is a recent graduate Columbia University in NYC who obtained degrees in Dance and Anthropology. As an interdisciplinary artist, Lily works primarily with dance, film, and visual arts. Driven by the healing power of creative expression, they use their organizational and leadership skills to guide their academic, artistic, and professional pursuits.

Lily is a 2023-24 Student Artist in Residence with the Movement Lab at Barnard College, where she created two evening-length live performance works: Acqua Alta and Ultimate Catharsis 1. In NYC, Lily was a Dance Maker and the Assistant to Director at Open Dance Ensemble for the Fall 2023-Spring 2024 seasons. In the Spring 2023, Lily founded Essence, an improvisational artistic research workshop. She also creates independent projects.

Lily’s pursuits prioritize meaningful global engagement. Lily currently works with Ringle, tutoring advanced-level English students, and 4K-12 students with Ringle Teens. Lily attended the Columbia Summer in Venice program in 2023 — also sharing written works in both English and Italian. As a dancer, Lily attended the Barnard Dance in Paris program in Summer 2022 and has also attended summer intensives at Milwaukee Ballet and Boston Ballet.

Lily is deeply involved in her home community of Green Lake, Wisconsin, with her family’s annual From the Land Festival and with Heritage Hemp Farm, a family business established in 2018. She has also worked as a contributing artist at The Heist in Ripon WI, and as an art gallery manager and dancer at Levee Contemporary Art Gallery in Princeton WI.
