About Me
Lily Margaret Selthofner (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist from Green Lake, Wisconsin, working in dance, film, writing, and painting. Lily’s practice explores the relationship between land, body, and storytelling, with an emphasis on somatic and ecological listening. Driven by the healing power of creative expression, Lily approaches primordial and contemporary questions with curiosity and emotionality. Collaborative, interview-based, and site-specific processes shape their works, toward fostering audience reflections on broader social and existential themes.
Lily holds a BA in Dance and Anthropology from Columbia University, including study and creation abroad in Venice and Paris, as well as an artistic residency at Barnard College’s Movement Lab. In New York City, Lily served as Assistant Director of Open Dance Ensemble from 2023-2024 and will stage a performance with the company in 2026. Lily is excited to begin the MFA in Dance – Screendance at University of Wisconsin–Madison in Fall 2026.
