About Me

Lily Margaret Selthofner (she/they) is an artist and researcher working across dance, film, writing, and painting. Grounded in somatic political ecology, she explores embodiment through abstract narratives involving elemental forces and archetypal energies. Driven by the healing power of creativity, her work holds existential questions with tender emotionality.

Currently, she is pursuing an M.F.A. in Dance – Screendance at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Lily holds a B.A. in Dance and Anthropology from Columbia University. In NYC, Lily completed an artistic residency at Barnard College’s Movement Lab. She also served as Assistant Director of Open Dance Ensemble in NYC 2023-2026. Lily is also a member of Art MidWisconsin, a collective of visual artists. As a researcher, Lily was a Spring 2025 Artist Research Fellow with Borshch of Art.
