Sleepy Time

A poem by Lily Selthofner, 2022.

night and shade,

moments of vacancy,

lunar possibility cuts the haze

enlisting seeds to grow in the ground

where my burdens lay, buried

ruins to scrounge

eating away decades

as human habit splices

my days

into tiny stars in the darkness.

stones unturned,

lying mysteriously about my cave.
